Rare Photos of Stanley Kubrick in His Editing Room (1974)

August 11th, 2014

Stanley Kubrick's daughter, Vivian, recently uploaded to Twitter several behind-the-scenes photographs of her father working out of his converted garage in Abbots Mead with his assistant editors. The photos were taken in 1974 during the post production of Barry Lyndon.

Not only does this give you a look at the master filmmaker finishing up one of his projects but also a look at the painstaking process of film editing before non-linear editing options or computers were introduced into the mix.
